A. Leigh Phillips Scholarship
Eligibility: Student with disability(ies) identified under IDEA and Chapter 101, going on to post-secondary education, also achievements In on or more of the following, academics, leadership, volunteerism, work ethic, extra-curricular activities

Abbott Scottish Rite Scholarship
Eligibility: Any Maine resident with connections to Scottish Rite (father, brother or grandfather as member), or membership in DeMolay or Rainbow.

AES Engineers Scholarship
Eligibility: Any high school senior attending a post secondary institution.

Al Neuharth Free Spirit Scholarship
Eligibility: Must be a high school graduating senior committed to pursuing a career in journalism. Must demonstrate qualities of a "free spirit."

Alpha One
Eligibility: A disabled student who is pursuing a post secondary education in the State of Maine who has a “B” average.

Alzheimer’s Awareness College Scholarship
Eligibility: a permanent resident planning on entering a 4 year college

All-American Vocational Student Award
Eligibility: All senior vocational students who are planning to pursue vocational training or careers. Should have personal commitment to vocational education, academic success, involvement in school/community activities, evidence of personal character and leadership.
Apply: Application form to be filled out by student and school official. Include official transcript. Mail with two copies of completed application.

American Business Women Association Scholarship
Eligibility: Any senior planning on attending an accredited institution on a full-time basis.
Apply: Application form, biographical statement, official transcript, and three letters of reference.

American Chemical Society Scholars Program
Eligibility: Any U.S. minority (African American, Hispanic/Latino, or American Indian) student who has a GPA of 3.0 or better, who will be majoring in chemistry, biochemistry, chemical engineering or a chemically related science, and has a demonstrated financial need.

American Legion Bourque - Lanigan Post #5 Scholarships
Eligibility: Any senior pursuing higher education, who maintains a minimum GPA of 2.5 in first semester of freshman year in college. Preference is given to a relative of American Legion member.

American Legion Boynton-Webber Post #179 Auxiliary Scholarship
Eligibility: Any senior who is a resident of South China, Windsor, Weeks Mills or Branch Mills who is entering a medical field. Selection criteria include: financial need, scholastic ability, leadership, community service and character.

American Legion Children and Youth Scholarship
Eligibility: Any senior who is furthering their education. Selection criteria include: academic achievement, extra-curricular activities, community activities, and financial information.

American Legion’s National High School Oratorical Contest
This is a contest for public speaking. The first part consists of a speech you prepare
on some area of the US Constitution. The second part consists of a speech you
prepare on an assigned topic. Winners move up to the district, state and national levels.

America’s Junior Miss Scholarship Program
Eligibility: Any senior girl going on to college. This year’s theme is “Be Your Best Self.” Judging criteria include: physical fitness, interview, GPA of 3.2 or higher, talent, poise and composure. This is not a pageant.
