Accounting will have a computer application approach using Peachtree and Quick Books software along with the handwritten approach. The course is designed to teach the student how to sort, record and summarize financial information in an orderly and systematic way. Study progresses from a sole proprietorship to partnership to a corporation. This course meets the computer proficiency requirement toward graduation. Accounting 1 can count as the 4th year math credit as long as students have completed Algebra 1, 2, and Geometry.

Students will explore the knowledge and skills necessary for success in today’s workplace. The class covers such areas as: Preparing for work, working on the job, career planning, success skills, managing your money and independent living. Students will be using the computer to go on the Choices Program and other important websites. Students will also be involved in such activities as portfolio building and job shadowing.
